Pete and Debbie…
Part of our local green community, we had a meeting with Jon Cullum at Dorset based Green Wing Technologies Ltd, to discuss ways for The Rosscourt to become more energy efficient. These are the measures we have introduced to date.
Low Energy Infrared Heating
We were recommended to use infrared heat technology in our conservatory. The local company, Infrared Technologies Ltd, helped us with the right choice of heating panel of 300 watts and this has taken the chill off of the conservatory which saves us using an expensive electric radiator.
We have already introduced GreenWing magnetic conditioning to our cold water pipe into the hot water tank. This will help to reduce lime scale and make the tank more efficient. The water temperature has already had to be turned down. We also have the product fixed to the Gas pipe into the boiler, this should lead to better energy consumption and in the next few months we will see the gas bills reduce. Jon has advised us to have one placed on the fuel pipe of the car to help with petrol consumption.
Many years ago we had this magnetic technology placed on our incoming cold water feed – and this has reduced lime scale over the years.
Low Energy LED Lighting
We have already invested in LED lighting for the kitchen and we have intelligent lighting in our bathroom so that it only comes on when someone walks in – and goes off a couple of minutes after they have left the room.
We have replaced all our shower heads in our bed and breakfast to Jet Storm and they have proved a godsend as we don’t have water laying in the heads that can cause issues with blocking the pin head holes.
