Infrared heating panels and a bathroom dryer were mounted in the flat, which plan is
presented below. They were connected to separate electricity meters in order to measure the
amount of electric energy consumed by electrically powered devices. Outdoor temperature
fluctuated from +2℃ to - 5℃ during the month of the experiment. +20℃ temperature was
maintained in the room at all times. The capacity of the heaters was 2.99 kW.

- The heaters operated 4 h/day on an average within the month of the experiment;
- Electricity consumption per day = 4 h/day x 2.99 kWh = 11.96 kWh per day;
- Electricity cost per day = 1 kWh = £0.10*; 11.96 kWh x £0.10* = £1.20 per day;
- Electricity cost per month = £1.20 x 30 day = £36.00 per month
*1 kw/h = £0.10 average cost whith "Economy 7" tariff.
In addition, heating settings may be changed to a lower temperature at night, this way saving
even more on electricity bills.
